Quartz Worktops
Engineered quartz combines 90–95% natural quartz crystals with polymer resins and pigments to create a non-porous, virtually maintenance-free surface available in hundreds of consistent colours and patterns.
How it's made
Quartz aggregate is mixed with ~7% polymer resin, vibro-compacted under vacuum and cured to produce dense 20–30mm slabs. Brands we fabricate include Silestone, Caesarstone, Compac, Unistone and Technistone.
Suitability
Kitchens
The default choice for modern fitted kitchens. Non-porous so resists coffee, wine and oil; consistent appearance lets us run a single colour across worktops, splashbacks and waterfall islands.
Bathrooms
Hygienic, easy to clean and resistant to cosmetics. Marble-effect quartz mimics Carrara or Calacatta without the etching risk of natural marble.
Outdoors
Not recommended outdoors — most quartz is not UV-stable and resins can yellow in direct sun. Choose porcelain for outdoor kitchens instead.
