Porcelain Worktops
Porcelain (sintered stone) is the newest worktop material on the market. Natural clays, feldspar, silica and pigments are pressed at 25,000 tonnes and fired at 1,200°C — producing a 12mm slab that is virtually impervious to heat, UV, scratches and stains.
How it's made
Manufactured by Dekton (Cosentino), Neolith, Lapitec, Laminam and SapienStone. Digital printing carries the pattern deep into the body so the slab convincingly mimics marble, concrete, oxidised metal and timber.
Suitability
Kitchens
Works brilliantly in contemporary kitchens. The 12mm profile gives an elegant minimal look; mitred edges create seamless 'block' islands. Place pans direct from the hob — no trivet needed.
Bathrooms
Zero water absorption and resistance to cosmetics, dyes and limescale make porcelain ideal for vanities, shower walls and bath surrounds.
Outdoors
The only worktop we recommend without reservation for outdoor kitchens. 100% UV-stable, frost-proof to −30°C, resistant to chlorine and salt water.
