Granite Worktops

Granite is an igneous rock quarried in huge blocks from sites around the world, then sliced and polished into worktop slabs. It is one of the hardest natural materials on earth, with each piece carrying unique crystal patterns and veining.

How it's made

Formed by slowly cooled magma over millions of years. Quarried in Brazil, India, China, Norway and South Africa, then gang-sawn into 20–30mm slabs and polished, honed, leathered or flamed.

Suitability

Kitchens

The original premium worktop. Heat-resistant enough to take roasting pans straight from the oven; shrugs off knife marks, dropped pans and daily abuse.

Bathrooms

Granite vanity tops add weight and luxury. Darker stones hide water marks well. Annual reseal recommended in heavy-use bathrooms.

Outdoors

Handles British weather beautifully. UV won't fade it, frost won't crack a properly sealed slab, and it ages with grace. Reseal twice a year if used year-round.
